This opportunity is offered through a partner organization seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join their remote team and contribute to advancements in healthcare AI and analytics. The role involves working with healthcare datasets to develop machine learning and predictive analytics models aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiencies.

In this position, you will engage collaboratively with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and healthcare experts within a remote-first setting that values innovation and continuous learning. You will employ data science, statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI techniques to tackle practical healthcare challenges.

Responsibilities

• Examine clinical, operational, and patient data to derive actionable insights and detect patterns.
• Create, evaluate, and refine machine learning models that support predictive healthcare solutions.
• Conduct exploratory and statistical data analyses to inform strategic business decisions.
• Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using contemporary BI tools.
• Prepare, cleanse, validate, and transform both structured and unstructured datasets for analysis.
• Support AI-driven healthcare projects and predictive analytics initiatives.
• Work closely with software development and product teams to implement data-centric solutions.
• Enhance data integrity, make analytical workflows more efficient, and automate recurring reports.
• Document all technical approaches, experiments, and results comprehensively.
• Keep abreast of new developments in AI, machine learning, and data science fields.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or closely related disciplines.
• Up to 2 years of professional experience or robust personal projects in data science, analytics, machine learning, or business intelligence.
• Proficient with Python programming and SQL querying.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts, predictive analytics, and statistical methods.
• Experience with data visualization platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Skilled in handling structured data sets and applying data cleaning procedures.
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and good command of English communication.
• Keen interest in AI, healthcare technology, and ongoing self-improvement.

Preferred Expertise

• Exposure to healthcare data or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of APIs and managing large-scale data sets.
• Participation in Kaggle competitions, bootcamp projects, or a public GitHub portfolio showcasing data science work.
• Experience or awareness of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) is advantageous.
