About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Business Risk Analyst to support the risk management activities within a business location. The role involves assisting in operational and supervisory control reviews, recommending improvements, and providing advisory support to front office teams and stakeholders. You will gather and compile key risk data for reporting purposes, facilitate stakeholder agreement on control procedures, help coordinate audit requests, and monitor the resolution of audit items. Additionally, under supervision, you will conduct ad hoc risk reviews and contribute to the delivery of business risk projects.
Team and Organization
You will be joining the Business Risk Organisation within the Wealth Management business, either in Sydney or Melbourne. The BRO team works closely with the Wealth Management Front Office to help achieve business objectives. Responsibilities
- Assist with performance of risk and control-related tasks to support business risk management.
- Review operational and supervisory controls and suggest improvements as necessary.
- Provide risk management advice and support to front office and other key stakeholders.
- Gather and prepare location-specific key risk statistics for reporting, including regional KRIs and audit-related metrics.
- Coordinate agreement among stakeholders regarding new or altered control procedures.
- Support audit request coordination and oversee audit item closure monitoring.
- Perform special ad hoc reviews and participate in risk-related projects under supervision.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage effectively with front office, management, and compliance teams.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities to manage competing priorities.
- Independent judgment with solid analytical assessment abilities.
- High sense of ownership, creativity, and eagerness to learn.
- Previous experience in audit, regulatory, banking, or risk environments is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in business or commerce.
- Interest in exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance workflow processes while adhering to policy and risk standards.
