Overview
We are seeking three Junior Business Analyst contractors to join the team supporting Supply Ontario (Ontario Health) on an 8-month project with the possibility of extension. The position is based in Toronto with a hybrid working model requiring 2-3 onsite days per week.
Role Details
These resources will play a key role in the Agency’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) onboarding process and related digital health service access initiatives. They will use the Agency's established methodology to validate Health Information Custodian (HIC) statuses, categorize clinician users, and confirm legal responsibility prior to migration to Ontario's Provincial Clinical Viewer and other digital platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitate end-to-end onboarding and intake for EHR and associated digital health services.
- Examine and verify submitted information and documentation for accuracy.
- Assign and map clinician end users to Approved Health Information Custodian types.
- Confirm legal responsible parties' information for pre-approval steps.
- Maintain detailed tracking with updates on requests, issues, and current status.
- Assist in stakeholder communication and follow-up procedures.
- Recognize process deficiencies or risks and escalate them appropriately.
- Participate in documenting processes and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Good knowledge of PHIPA principles, including consent, collection, use, disclosure, and safeguarding of personal health information.
- Awareness of roles of health information custodians and agents under PHIPA.
- Experience with requirements gathering, documentation development (including presentations and briefing notes), and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and sound decision-making skills.
- Effective interpersonal, negotiation, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Experience supporting business analysis, onboarding, intake, validation, or process coordination tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard business productivity tools.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to public sector environments.
- Familiarity with digital health onboarding or healthcare access processes.
- Understanding of Ontario Health digital services and Provincial Clinical Viewer.
- Strong documentation and coordination capabilities.
- Track record of collaborating with diverse stakeholders in structured operational settings.
Deliverables
- Map and categorize clinicians to Agency-approved HIC types and verify legal responsibility before migration to digital services.
- Complete requirement analysis, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting related to onboarding and validation.
Evaluation Criteria
- Comprehension of PHIPA principles (10%).
- Understanding roles of custodians and agents under PHIPA (40%).
- Proven skill in requirements gathering and stakeholder management (25%).
- Analytical, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills (25%).
