Role overview
Belmond Safaris is hiring an Income Audit Clerk in Maun, North-West District, Botswana. This full-time, on-site position focuses on reviewing revenue, monitoring collections, tracking overdue balances, and supporting accurate financial reporting. The role suits someone who wants to strengthen their accounting skills while contributing to a premium hospitality environment.
Key responsibilities
- Verify daily revenue and collections across the relevant companies and ensure they match the supporting documentation.
- Monitor overdue accounts through different follow-up channels, document recovery actions, and prepare status reports.
- Support both external and internal audit enquiries with accurate information and timely responses.
- Examine revenue corrections and allowances, confirming that each adjustment is justified, supported by evidence, and properly recorded and approved.
- Check that credit card refunds, paid-outs, and void transactions are complete and comply with company policy on a daily basis.
- Reconcile ad hoc guest charges against supplier invoices and forward the completed reconciliation to Accounts Payable for processing and settlement.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have experience in a comparable position, strong computer skills, and a clear understanding of fundamental bookkeeping plus accounts payable and receivable practices. Accuracy with financial figures, confidence in handling records, and good data entry ability are important for success in this role.
