Role Overview
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department. Responsibilities encompass employee relations, interpreting and applying HR policies, performance and talent management consultation, and potentially spearheading employee development and training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies and procedures for both staff and management.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to analyze data trends and develop relevant HR solutions, programs, and policies.
- Coach leadership on employee relations matters, policy clarification, and ensuring fair treatment across the workforce.
- Support employees in resolving everyday HR-related concerns.
- Conduct investigations as needed and advise leadership on resolution strategies.
- Assist employees with the ADA process and advise management accordingly.
- Review and update job descriptions to maintain accuracy.
- Help ensure compliance with employment laws at all levels and assist with audits and reporting.
- Contribute to the maintenance and updating of the company policy handbook.
- Encourage and promote employee engagement activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Solid foundation in HR principles, including employment law and compliance obligations.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation capabilities.
- Competent in coaching both employees and management through complex and sensitive issues.
- Ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities independently.
- Problem-solving aptitude with effective resolution recommendation skills.
- Proven project management experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS systems, internet navigation, and database management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline required.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience is essential; experience supporting multiple sites and working in healthcare settings is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience with HRIS platforms; familiarity with Business Intelligence and reporting tools is highly favored.
- Compliance with governing agencies, without any sanctions.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 annually, factoring in experience, background, and location, with potential for growth within the role.
