Housekeeping Executive

Role Overview

This role sits within the Housekeeping & Laundry function at a Marriott property in Goa. The position is non-management and is scheduled as a full-time onsite job.

Key Duties

The housekeeping executive checks cleaned guest rooms, common spaces, pool areas, and similar facilities to confirm that brand and cleanliness standards are being met. The role reviews sold-room reports, confirms room conditions, identifies mismatches in room status, and helps prioritize cleaning work for departing guests. It also supports the housekeeping leadership team with day-to-day operations and coordinates closely with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to keep room information and service flow aligned.

In addition, the position documents and helps resolve discrepancies with the Front Desk, prepares and shares room assignment updates, and passes important information to the next shift. The role may also involve completing required paperwork and handling other duties assigned by supervisors.

People Leadership

This role contributes to team management by assisting with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, and employee motivation/coaching.

Standards, Safety, and Guest Service

The executive is expected to follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures, report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries, and complete required safety training and certifications. The role also requires maintaining a polished personal appearance and uniform, protecting confidential information, safeguarding company assets, and delivering courteous, professional guest service. Guest needs should be anticipated and addressed promptly, including supporting guests with disabilities and acknowledging all guests with genuine hospitality.

Communication and Work Practices

Clear professional communication, strong teamwork, active listening, and responsiveness to coworker concerns are important parts of the job. Quality standards must be consistently followed. The job also requires working with computers and/or point-of-sale systems, reading information in different formats, and handling tasks that involve physical movement throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements

The work includes lifting, carrying, moving, and placing objects up to 55 pounds without assistance, and heavier items with assistance. The role also requires pushing loaded housekeeping carts and other equipment over uneven or sloped surfaces, reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, stooping, standing, sitting, kneeling, and walking for long periods, and using fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to manipulate objects of different sizes and weights.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role expects at least 1 year of relevant work experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
