About the Role
Legacy Heights Senior Living Community is currently looking for dedicated Housekeepers to join their team, based in Wood Buffalo, Alberta. This full-time position requires availability from Monday to Friday, with additional shifts every other weekend.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all designated cleaning tasks following detailed checklists for both resident rooms and common areas.
- Prepare cleaning solutions accurately by mixing water and detergents according to standard guidelines.
- Operate chemical cleaners and powered equipment safely to avoid damage to floors and fixtures.
- Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming floors and walls in community and resident areas.
- Perform steam cleaning or carpet shampooing as needed.
- Dust furniture, walls, equipment, and relocate furniture as required.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass partitions using appropriate cleaning methods and tools.
- Adjust heating, cooling, and ventilation systems including filter replacements.
- Collect and dispose of trash properly and remove debris from outside areas such as porches, parking lots, and dumpster zones.
- Ensure restocking of paper products and hand soap in common and resident bathrooms as well as bistro areas.
- Replace light bulbs throughout the facility.
- Clean suites housing two residents twice weekly.
- Report major repairs or needed maintenance to supervisors using maintenance logs and checklists.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- At least one year of relevant housekeeping experience is required.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures is essential.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and cope with stress effectively.
- Familiarity with assisted living principles and philosophy is preferred.
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours as service demands.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for effective interpersonal interactions.
