Position Overview
As a Hotel Night Duty Officer, you will be a key part of the overnight team ensuring excellent guest service and smooth hotel operations during the night shift. You will report to the Head of Operations & Tenant Experience and work full-time from our Singapore location.
Primary Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests arriving late, assisting with check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns courteously throughout the night to maintain satisfaction.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel amenities, services, transport options, and local attractions.
- Manage night operations by monitoring all overnight activities, conducting regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.
- Keep the front desk and lobby clean, secure, and prepared for guests at all times.
- Handle same-day bookings, walk-ins as applicable, cancellations, and modifications ensuring room inventory is updated accurately using the property management system.
- Liaise with Housekeeping and other departments for room availability, cleaning requests, and guest requirements.
- Coordinate communication between guests and internal teams such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security to promptly resolve issues, ensuring smooth handover to the morning team.
- Ensure safety and security by vigilant monitoring of premises, responding appropriately to emergencies like fire alarms, medical emergencies, power outages, or suspicious activities, and controlling property access.
- Manage cash transactions, maintaining accurate payment records and balancing cash floats. Perform end-of-day financial reconciliations and completing administrative reports accurately, including night audit tasks when applicable.
- Maintain the reception and public areas to high hospitality and professional standards, promptly reporting any maintenance needs.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of two years’ experience working in a hotel front office or similar hospitality setting, with preference for those experienced in night shifts.
- Familiarity with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) is advantageous.
- Strong command of spoken and written English, coupled with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle guest complaints and emergencies calmly and confidently with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Honest, dependable, meticulous, and capable of working independently during overnight shifts including weekends and public holidays.
