Hospital Administrator Role Overview
Located in Accra, Ghana, this Hospital Administrator position is with a prominent healthcare provider and diagnostic center focused on delivering superior healthcare services, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all administrative and non-clinical operations of the hospital for seamless day-to-day functionality and efficient support services delivery.
- Lead and supervise teams responsible for front desk, housekeeping, procurement, maintenance, and security to ensure effective support service management.
- Provide coaching and professional development for administrative staff while promoting a culture built on professionalism, accountability, and outstanding customer service.
- Formulate, apply, and periodically evaluate administrative policies and procedures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and service quality.
- Manage procurement activities and inventory to guarantee timely availability of medical, office, and administrative supplies.
- Partner with the Finance department in budget preparation for administrative functions, track expenditures, and suggest cost-saving measures.
- Generate administrative performance reports and keep the Medical Director updated on key developments.
- Collaborate with the Marketing division to organize outreach programs and community engagement efforts that boost hospital visibility and facilitate business growth.
- Administer contracts involving clients, vendors, suppliers, and service providers, overseeing their execution, monitoring, renewal, and compliance with agreed terms.
- Ensure strict adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, health and safety protocols, and internal policies.
- Drive service quality initiatives by actively tracking patient feedback, addressing administrative complaints, and fostering continuous improvements.
- Maintain accurate patient and corporate client records to support effective communication and prompt resolution of client issues.
- Establish and nurture relationships with regulatory bodies, suppliers, contractors, and other essential stakeholders.
- Work closely with department heads to synchronize administrative support with clinical services and the hospital's strategic goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or allied disciplines are advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of Ghanaian healthcare regulations and quality standards.
- Minimum of four years experience in hospital administration, healthcare management, or related administrative roles.
- At least one year of experience in supervisory or managerial positions.
- Proven ability managing administrative and support teams within a healthcare environment.
- Experience with procurement, facilities control, compliance, budgeting, and service quality management is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
