Role overview
Dunbia Treburley is hiring a Hides Operative to support its established hides team in Launceston. The position focuses on preparing cattle hides for the next stage of processing by chilling, salting, and weighing them. There may also be occasions where you help load lorries for dispatch.
Working pattern
The standard schedule runs Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm. Flexibility is important, as extra hours may be offered depending on customer demand. Overtime begins after 37.5 hours and is paid at an enhanced rate.
Pay
Hourly pay starts at £12.71 and rises to £12.90.
What the job involves
- Sorting and preserving cattle hides so they can move into further processing.
- Handling hides through chilling, salting, and weighing.
- Supporting loading activities for outgoing lorries when needed.
- Working safely and effectively in a physical, outdoor setting.
- Using initiative and working with limited direct supervision.
