Role Overview

We are seeking a committed Site Health & Safety Manager to spearhead the creation, management, and ongoing enhancement of the Health & Safety framework at our Ballybay, Monaghan facility. This leadership position provides a unique chance to shape the safety culture across a dynamic operational plant by collaborating with managers, workforce members, contractors, and senior leadership.

Key Duties

• Create, deploy, and uphold Health & Safety policies, protocols, and management systems.
• Recognize hazards, perform risk assessments, and establish robust control strategies.
• Assist supervisors in embedding safety practices within all operational areas.
• Lead safety audits, site inspections, accident investigations, and follow-up corrective actions.
• Conduct safety training sessions, employee inductions, and toolbox talks for staff and contractors.
• Track, analyze, and communicate Health & Safety metrics, KPIs, and compliance results.
• Facilitate site safety meetings and regularly update senior management with findings and suggestions.
• Engage with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all legal and legislative standards.
• Drive a positive safety environment through employee engagement, coaching, and behavioral safety programs.
• Offer specialized guidance on occupational health, ergonomics, safe work methodologies, and equipment safety.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Holds a Diploma in Safety and Health from a recognized university or an equivalent IOSH certification.
• At least 3 years of professional health and safety experience post qualification, preferably within food or manufacturing sectors.
• Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Proven capability to identify and recommend continuous safety improvement measures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint, and other standard software tools.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in training delivery is advantageous.
