Health & Performance Specialist

About the Role

NOVA Body Lab is inviting applications for a Health & Performance Specialist to join our innovative health optimization and performance testing studio in Falls Church, VA. This position is intended for professionals with backgrounds in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, athletic training, physical therapy, health sciences, or similar domains who are dedicated to assisting clients in understanding their health metrics such as body composition, metabolism, bone health, and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform DEXA scans to measure body composition and bone density.
• Administer VO₂ max assessments and resting metabolic rate tests.
• Guide clients through red light therapy, ensuring correct usage and comprehension.
• Assist clients safely through testing and treatment procedures maintaining a professional environment.
• Clearly communicate testing methods, protocols, and results to clients.
• Keep precise records and maintain documentation accuracy.
• Ensure cleanliness, proper organization, and functionality of testing equipment and treatment areas.
• Develop strong client relationships and provide a superior service experience.
• Respond to potential client inquiries, guiding them to suitable services.
• Maintain follow-ups with new and existing clients to support retention.
• Educate clients about available services, membership options, and promotions.
• Support growth of the studio through relationship-building and effective communication.
• Open and close the studio and oversee daily operational duties.
• Manage appointment schedules and client communications efficiently.
• Maintain the studio’s cleanliness, organization, and preparation.
• Assist with inventory and various operational responsibilities as needed.
• Represent NOVA Body Lab with professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Deep enthusiasm for health, wellness, fitness, and helping others enhance their lifestyles.
• Keen interest in body composition analysis, metabolism, longevity, performance enhancement, and preventive health measures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to quickly establish trust and rapport.
• A polished, professional, and client-focused manner in service delivery.
• Strong organizational talents with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Comfortable using technology and learning new software applications.
• Reliability and capability to manage studio operations autonomously.
• Availability for part-time hours (20–30 per week), including select evenings and weekends, with the potential to advance to full-time.

Preferred Experience

• Background in fitness, wellness, healthcare, rehabilitation, sports performance, hospitality, or consultative sales.
• Experience in client-facing roles aimed at direct customer service.
• Proven skill in building client relationships, educating them, and suggesting fitting services.
• Familiarity with CRM, scheduling, or client management software platforms.
• Formal education, training, or work experience related to Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or Health Sciences.
• Certifications such as ARRT and/or ISCD Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT) are advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits

• The pay range is $22 to $26 hourly, depending on experience and certifications.
