Overview
Orion Mining Inc is seeking an experienced Head of Planning to oversee project planning and scheduling for major EPC projects within the Oil & Gas sector in Doha, Qatar. This senior role involves formulating planning strategies, managing schedules, leading planning teams, and ensuring robust project controls throughout all phases of project delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct comprehensive planning and scheduling across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and interface management.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance project planning procedures and scheduling standards.
- Handle project scheduling including risk assessment, critical path methodology, and recovery strategy development.
- Coordinate progress tracking, status reporting, forecasting, and performance evaluation of the schedule.
- Analyze the impacts of project changes on schedules and integrate updates promptly.
- Evaluate contractor schedules and monitor planning performance during execution phases.
- Provide accurate schedule data and analysis to support informed management decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planning professionals, collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar fields.
- At least 10 years of project planning experience, with a minimum of 6 years in Oil & Gas industry projects.
- Proven track record of managing planning on large EPC projects.
- Proficient in Primavera P6.
- Experience with schedule risk analysis tools like Acumen or Primavera Risk Analysis.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling techniques, and critical path analysis.
- Excellent leadership qualities with strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management capabilities.
