Role Summary

Tether is seeking a proactive and organized leader for the position of Head of Licensing and Regulatory Authorisations. This role is ideal for someone experienced with digital asset and stablecoin regulatory environments and eager to lead the global licensing strategy for the business. The role involves managing regulatory approvals across jurisdictions through a distributed team, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and supporting strategic business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a consistent, global licensing strategy with regional coordination.
• Evaluate regulatory environments and market opportunities jointly with local licensing teams.
• Oversee preparation, submission, and management of licensing and regulatory applications worldwide.
• Coordinate licensing activities across regions to maintain alignment with business goals.
• Act as the central liaison for licensing and authorization efforts, ensuring standardization and support to regional personnel.
• Engage as a senior representative in regulatory discussions involving global coordination and executive participation.
• Support regional teams in local regulatory interactions, providing strategic guidance and maintaining uniform communications.
• Ensure regional operational readiness related to governance, capital, and reporting per jurisdictional requirements.
• Maintain oversight of global regulatory conditions and guide responses to supervisory reviews or regulatory queries.
• Conduct and support feasibility and risk analyses for market and product expansions, advising executive leadership.
• Lead and mentor the global licensing and regulatory team, fostering consistency, capability development, and knowledge-sharing.
• Promote a culture emphasizing regulatory integrity, transparency, and disciplined execution within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years’ experience in regulatory licensing, authorisations, compliance, or related roles within financial services, payments, fintech, crypto, or technology sectors.
• Demonstrated success managing multi-jurisdictional regulatory authorisations and navigating complex regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in leading or working in matrixed or regional teams is highly desirable.

• Strong expertise in multi-regional regulatory coordination and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in managing complex regulatory projects and cross-jurisdictional workstreams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of synthesizing diverse inputs into a unified strategic approach.
