Role Overview

They seek a Head of Engineering to oversee project execution, cultivate engineering expertise, and serve as a pivotal contact within the site's leadership team. Reporting directly to the technical leadership, this role involves managing the entire engineering project function, leading project engineers and managers, and ensuring the successful completion of a wide range of capital projects—from smaller investments around €10,000 to major programs exceeding €40 million.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and expand a team of Project Engineers and Project Managers.
• Own the engineering project portfolio on-site from initial concept to final implementation.
• Oversee multiple CAPEX projects concurrently, from small-scale enhancements to large strategic investments.
• Assess and choose technical and commercial proposals based on cost, quality, risk, and long-term benefits.
• Establish and monitor engineering and project key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Guarantee project delivery is safe, timely, within budget, and meets quality requirements.
• Promote ongoing improvements in project execution and engineering workflows.
• Assist in coaching and developing engineering and project management staff at various seniority levels.
• Align efforts between engineering, operations, maintenance, automation, and other site departments.

Candidate Profile

• Technical expertise with experience managing CAPEX budgets and complex project portfolios.
• Knowledgeable about project management methodologies and engineering governance.
• Experience in process manufacturing industries such as Food & Beverage, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Medical Devices, or Oil & Gas.
• Strong communication skills capable of influencing stakeholders across all levels.
• Proactive, preventative mindset, with aptitude for identifying and resolving issues early.
• Collaborative leadership style engaging both floor-level and senior management.
• Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
• Energetic, hands-on approach with a passion for engineering and project delivery.
• Excellent problem-solving and decisiveness.
• Ability to mentor and nurture future leaders in engineering and project management.

Mandatory Requirements

• Fluent in German language.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Willingness to work predominantly on-site in Bremen, Germany.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple departments.
• Experience managing CAPEX projects from design through commissioning and handover.
• Background in highly regulated or processing environments.
