Role Overview

We are collaborating with a top global media and entertainment company to recruit a visionary Head of Content based in Doha, Qatar. This pivotal leadership role involves crafting and delivering an exceptional lineup of original programming tailored for Arabic and Turkish audiences, while also seeking international co-production ventures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement the content strategy focusing on Originals within Arabic and Turkish markets.
• Oversee the development, commissioning, and production lifecycle of a varied portfolio of scripted and unscripted projects.
• Forge and maintain robust partnerships with production houses, studios, writers, directors, and creative talents regionally and globally.
• Spot and negotiate strategic co-production agreements to broaden the scope and resonance of original content.
• Assess project proposals and steer funding choices grounded in creative merit, audience appeal, and commercial potential.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Programming, Creative, Commercial, Operations, Legal, HR, and Finance to ensure smooth execution and release of original works.
• Manage production budgets and oversee financial outcomes plus overall investment strategies.
• Deliver content-related advice, production progress, and strategic insights to senior leadership.
• Lead, motivate, and nurture a high-achieving Originals unit across various locations.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 15 years in premium entertainment, production, or streaming sectors.
• At least 10 years of experience directing scripted long-form content development or production within studios, broadcasters, or OTT platforms.
• Documented success in commissioning or producing both scripted and unscripted content.
• Thorough understanding of the Arabic content ecosystem; expertise in the Turkish market is a considerable bonus.
• Established connections with production companies, studios, content creators, writers, directors, and talent on screen.
• Experience handling multi-million-dollar production budgets, negotiating commercial contracts, and managing intricate agreements.
• Strong grasp of audience analytics, content investment strategies, and driving subscriber base growth.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic languages; knowledge of conversational Turkish highly favorable.
