About the Employer and Role
Die USE Union Sozialer Einrichtungen gemeinnützige GmbH is a reputable social enterprise dedicated to social and vocational rehabilitation, employing about 400 staff. For over 30 years, they have offered more than 1,000 individuals, primarily with mental health challenges, opportunities for education, work, and engagement across over 30 fields.
Currently, an opening is available at their Waldcafé within the House of Nature and Environment (Haus Natur und Umwelt - HNU) located in the Wuhlheide forest, Berlin.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruct and supervise individuals with psychological illnesses in typical kitchen, service, and housekeeping tasks, offering support and guidance.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance housekeeping and cleaning processes, emphasizing ecological responsibility, waste reduction, and resource-efficient methods.
- Contribute ideas and work independently while supporting the team to continually develop housekeeping services; additionally, aid in café operations.
- Apply professional experience to generate positive social impact and gain personal fulfillment through meaningful work.
- Promote a respectful workplace culture actively, implement the organization's violence prevention approach, and participate in ongoing training sessions.
Candidate Profile
- Completion of formal training in housekeeping, building cleaning, or an equivalent field; interest in sustainable gastronomy or education in environmental contexts.
- Preferably experience in café or gastronomy operations and familiarity with cash register systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills including teamwork, pleasant communication, and a service-oriented attitude.
- Organizational skills with reliability, ability to work independently, stamina and adaptability in demanding situations, and a strong awareness of hygiene and responsible resource usage.
- German language proficiency suitable for this role; basic computer skills including MS Office applications.
- Willingness to work regular weekends, as the café operates Saturdays and Sundays.
