Role Overview

BGIS, a division specializing in technical services and maintenance, is hiring a Handy Person in Adelaide, South Australia. This permanent, full-time mobile role involves performing both routine preventive and urgent reactive maintenance across various building systems including air conditioning, plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance tasks involving plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and other building-related systems.
• Complete repairs and attend to reactive maintenance requests submitted through the helpdesk.
• Perform thorough site inspections, evaluate equipment condition, and provide upkeep recommendations.
• Coordinate with Facilities Managers, Supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Accurately log data and update work orders within BGIS management systems.
• Assist with capital works projects and related reporting tasks.
• Participate in an after-hours call-out roster when required.
• Adhere strictly to WHSE standards, codes, and BGIS safety protocols.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

• Proven background in general building maintenance, facilities management, or related trades.
• Versatile skill set covering plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and various repairs.
• Completion of high school certificate or equivalent; trade qualifications are favorable.
• Possession of a White Card and valid driver's licence is mandatory.
• Holding an Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket or other relevant licenses is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to quality customer service.
• Strong adherence to workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance standards.
• Must have unrestricted legal right to work in Australia.
