Handicraft & Home Decor Designer

About the role

Asian Handicrafts is looking for a creative designer to join its team and help shape handcrafted home decor, giftware, and festive collections. The role focuses on developing original designs that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary appeal, with products intended for markets in the USA, Europe, and other international regions.

What you will do

• Create a variety of handmade craft and home decor products that reflect cultural influences and traditional making methods.
• Work closely with artisans and makers so concepts are translated into finished products with strong quality and detail.
• Study market trends and customer preferences to spot new opportunities in the handicraft and home decor space.
• Support the planning and presentation of product ranges and seasonal collections, including festive themes such as Christmas, Halloween, and Easter.
• Guide artisans during product development and help refine designs to improve the final output.

Candidate profile

• A degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a similar discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
• Prior experience in designing handicrafts, home decor items, or closely related products is expected.
• Strong knowledge of materials such as wood, fabric, resin, MDF, and similar inputs is important for this role.
• Experience with CAD tools, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator will be a plus.
• Applicants should have strong artistic ability and a portfolio that demonstrates original ideas and creative work.
• Familiarity with traditional craft methods and materials, along with an interest in preserving cultural heritage, is valued.

Additional information

This position is based in Gurugram, India. The compensation mentioned is 350000 to 600000 INR per year. The role is open to candidates with a B.Des. degree in any specialization.
