Group Financial Controller

Overview

Baker Charles is seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join their thriving £50 million turnover advertising company, located in London. This role reports directly to the CFO and offers a key opportunity to lead the finance function during a pivotal growth phase. The incumbent will manage robust financial controls, deliver precise financial reporting, and provide valuable insights to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of the financial control environment across multiple group entities, ensuring compliance and strong governance.
• Oversee month-end closing processes, statutory reporting, group consolidations, and technical accounting matters to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Lead the year-end audit and tax compliance efforts, liaising with external auditors and advisors as the principal contact.
• Play an active role in team development, systems improvement, and support for commercial projects including acquisitions and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified accountant with accreditation such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Proven experience in roles like Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, or Head of Finance within dynamic, multi-entity environments.
• Strong technical accounting expertise, especially in group consolidations, statutory reporting, and audit coordination.
• Commercial acumen to effectively engage with executive leadership and influence business strategy.
• Preferred background in advertising, media, marketing, technology, or other project-driven companies; candidates from other fast-growing sectors will also be considered.

• Location: London with hybrid work flexibility.
• Salary range: 100,000 to 120,000 per annum plus bonus and benefits.
