About Elwood
Elwood Technologies is an FCA-regulated company providing institutional investors with a comprehensive digital asset trading, execution, and risk management platform connected globally through a single API. To support the platform's expansion, we are recruiting a Graduate Software Engineer to join our User Interface (UI) team in London.
Job Overview
As a member of the UI team, you will help develop the front-end of a trading and portfolio management system that handles substantial real-time market and position data. Your work will involve creating dynamic grids, interactive charts, and dashboards essential for traders and portfolio managers to make informed decisions quickly and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain user-facing features using TypeScript and React.
- Manage real-time streaming data including prices, orders, positions, and profit and loss figures.
- Display extensive and rapidly updating datasets with interactive grids and charts.
- Ensure exceptional performance and precision to maintain accurate data display and responsive interfaces.
- Engage with senior developers, participate in code reviews, and gradually assume greater responsibility.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in computing or equivalent experience demonstrated through self-study or projects.
- Familiarity with core web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript and React through coursework, projects, internships, or self-directed learning.
- Understanding of modern front-end architecture involving components, state management, and rendering.
- Proven initiative to learn independently, evident through personal projects or published code repositories.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- A strong enthusiasm for FinTech and a genuine interest in crypto and digital asset markets.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of Next.js or modern build tools like Vite.
- Experience with data-centric UI components such as ag-Grid or charting solutions like Highcharts.
- Exposure to real-time data handling technologies such as WebSockets.
- Focus on optimizing UI performance in contexts with continuously changing data.
- Interest in finance, trading, and market operations.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative coding practices.
