Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned senior leader to join as the General Manager – Quality, Risk & Compliance, based at our Corporate Head Office in Elsternwick, Melbourne. This leadership role will drive the organisation's governance, risk, and assurance agenda across community services, disability, aged care, and commercial sectors, enhancing governance maturity, organisational capability, and ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality, and sustainable services.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the enterprise strategy covering governance, quality, risk, and compliance, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Provide trusted counsel to Executive leadership on governance maturity and the status of enterprise risks and compliance.
- Implement and embed assurance frameworks that promote accountability, transparency, and ongoing improvement.
- Manage integrated quality, risk, and compliance systems to guarantee readiness for audits, adherence to accreditation, and fulfillment of regulatory mandates.
- Maintain enterprise risk registers, control systems, and reporting to support informed leadership decisions.
- Oversee organisational responses to serious incidents, complaints, systemic issues, and audit results, ensuring effective remediation and learning.
- Produce clear, insightful reports on quality, risk, and compliance performance for Executive stakeholders and governance committees.
- Enhance organisational capability by collaborating with leaders to embed practical governance, quality, and risk management practices.
- Build and lead a high-performing team fostering accountability, skill development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish strong partnerships with regulators and external parties to maintain compliance and bolster organisational reputation.
Candidate Profile
The ideal executive has substantial experience leading enterprise-wide quality, risk, and compliance operations within complex, regulated settings. You possess commercial insight, are adept at building trust with senior leaders, and skillfully navigate complexities with sound judgment, balancing governance with operational realities to achieve pragmatic outcomes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Senior leadership experience at the General Manager, Executive Manager, or equivalent level.
- Proven track record managing enterprise-wide quality, risk, and compliance functions.
- Strong capability influencing Executive and senior stakeholders.
- Extensive knowledge of governance, risk, compliance, and assurance frameworks.
- Experience driving organisational transformation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Governance, Business, Law, Health, Risk, or related fields.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience within community services, disability, aged care, health, or other regulated sectors.
- Postgraduate credentials in governance, leadership, or risk management.
- Familiarity with Board and governance reporting processes.
- Strong understanding of modern enterprise risk management methodologies.
