General Manager - Luxury Hotel Operations

About the Role

Exuve Partners is searching for an experienced hospitality executive to lead the operations of a luxury internationally branded hotel in Melbourne, Australia. This role entails managing a high-caliber hotel and working collaboratively with ownership and senior stakeholders to achieve operational excellence, commercial success, and superior guest experiences. The General Manager will provide visionary leadership covering all facets of the hotel’s operation, supporting its continuous growth and long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee entire hotel operations, delivering outstanding guest satisfaction and service quality.
• Enhance commercial performance via strategic revenue management, directing sales teams, budgeting, and operational efficiency.
• Work in partnership with ownership and senior leadership to align with business priorities, initiatives, and investment plans.
• Coordinate with project and technical teams to maintain seamless hotel operations during changes and renovations, ensuring service standards remain high.
• Lead, motivate, and develop an executive team, promoting a culture centered on accountability, engagement, and continuous enhancement.
• Provide detailed operational and financial reporting to enable data-driven decisions and sustainable profitability.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as a General Manager in internationally branded luxury hotels.
• Expertise in managing complex operations within large-scale luxury properties.
• Familiarity with hotel refurbishment, operational transitions, or capital improvement initiatives is a plus.
• Strong commercial insight including financial management, budgeting, forecasting, revenue optimization, and profitability.
• Experience collaborating with ownership groups, asset managers, or institutional investors.
• Exceptional leadership skills, superior stakeholder management, and ability to handle organizational change effectively.
• Experience in luxury hotels in Australia or the Asia-Pacific region is highly valued.
