General Ledger / Finance Operations

Overview

This role sits within finance operations for a defence and aerospace environment in Abu Dhabi. The position focuses on general ledger control, month-end activities, audit coordination, tax reporting, and financial reporting discipline across operational entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the main contact for external and internal auditors, including handling audit requests and supporting the full audit cycle.
• Prepare internal monthly reporting and ensure it is delivered accurately and on time.
• Drive month-end close activities for all operational entities in accordance with the group reporting schedule.
• Make sure costs are recorded promptly by booking accruals whenever needed.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including work-in-progress tracking and project completion monitoring for software development assets.
• Suggest practical cost-control actions wherever they are needed.
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to coordinate finance-related matters.
• Handle tax-related reporting, including VAT, income tax, and tax return submissions.
• Ensure assets and liabilities are fully and correctly reflected by preparing monthly overhead analysis schedules for all accounts.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and related reporting.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience is expected.
• Strong working knowledge of English is required.
• Experience in audit support, month-end closing, financial reporting, tax compliance, and reconciliations is important.
