Role Overview
As a Gardener, you will play a key role in maintaining the outdoor areas of Believe Housing properties, ensuring spaces are safe, welcoming, and well cared for. Working both independently and within a collaborative maintenance team, you will provide quality gardening and grounds upkeep across residential sites, helping improve the living environments for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform gardening and grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, mulching, and irrigation upkeep.
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment and power tools safely while delivering high-quality results.
- Conduct minor maintenance repairs, report any property issues, and maintain accurate records of activities.
- Engage respectfully with residents, providing responsive customer-focused service to build positive relationships.
- Adhere to safe work practices and contribute to fostering a positive safety culture in the workplace.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or related outdoor roles.
- Competence and safety awareness in using gardening machinery, equipment, and power tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills allowing independent work while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and relationship building.
- Valid driver’s license and physical capability to perform demanding outdoor tasks.
- Preferred qualifications and skills include experience in residential or community housing maintenance, knowledge of irrigation systems, weed control, horticultural practices, and basic computer skills for record keeping. Formal training in horticulture or landscaping is an advantage but not mandatory.
