Role Overview
This role involves working as part of a small team managing warehouse container logistics both offsite and onsite. The position requires shifting stock from containers into warehouses and servicing three Mitre10 MEGA stores in Christchurch, soon increasing to four locations. Duties include working from different sites such as Seymore Street in Hornby, Orbell Street in Sydenham, and our upcoming distribution center in Rolleston. Handling large volumes of stock, moving inventory between locations, and preparing new stock for distribution are key tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload and transfer stock from shipping containers to warehouse locations.
- Feed stock to multiple Mitre10 MEGA stores across Christchurch.
- Manage stock movement between stores and warehouses including container-based storage.
- Work independently when required, efficiently managing workload and schedules.
- Maintain a safe working environment adhering to health and safety standards.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience working in warehouse operations.
- Valid forklift license essential.
- Strong physical fitness to manage heavy lifting in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated, resilient, and adept at overcoming operational challenges.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a solid work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to support colleagues.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
- Rotating roster based on season or events, with two weeks' notice for changes.
- Typical shifts include Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or Tuesday to Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
