Job Overview
The Food Service Worker NA-02 position at Obsolete Site located in Stuttgart, Germany, involves setting up cafeteria and dining service areas with various hot and cold food items, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness.
Key Duties
- Prepare cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining tables, and side service stations by setting out hot and cold dishes such as meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages, replenishing as needed.
- Serve food according to orders and proper portion sizes; clean tables and dining areas after meals and return dishes to the kitchen.
- Prepare fresh fruit and green salads in bulk using designated dressings and portion them properly; assemble cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients.
- Manage waste by separating food scraps and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware; operate dishwashers and store cleaned items; maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping kitchen floors.
- Clean kitchen exhaust vents, hoods, windows, ceilings, and walls; sanitize trash cans and dispose of waste properly; occasionally unload and stock food deliveries.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a Social Security Card and enrollment in direct deposit.
- Fulfillment of eligibility and background criteria for the role.
- Potential one-year probation period upon hiring.
- Availability and ability to work during evenings, weekends, and special events related to Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR).
- Physical capability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 40 pounds; ability to stand and walk continuously.
- Physical ability to stoop, reach, push, pull, bend, climb ladders, and use powered cleaning tools.
- Completion of at least 4 hours of initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment, plus minimum 4 hours annual refresher training.
- Ability to comprehend and follow simple instructions and utilize hand tools for cleaning and operating basic machines.
