Overview
Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is hiring a Floor Technician to help maintain clean, well-kept flooring in a long-term care setting. This position supports a team focused on improving the daily experience of residents, visitors, and staff while contributing to a high standard of service and care.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out floor maintenance work such as cleaning, polishing/buffing, and refinishing in resident rooms, shared spaces, and office areas.
- Use floor care equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Keep accurate records of completed floor care tasks and notify a supervisor about maintenance concerns or safety hazards.
- Follow infection prevention practices and universal precautions to help maintain a sanitary environment.
- Provide courteous, professional interaction with residents, employees, and visitors.
- Handle additional tasks as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in floor care is an advantage, though not mandatory.
- Ability to communicate well and maintain a positive attitude when working with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership.
- Must comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and walk for long periods.
- Comfort with repetitive, routine work performed continuously.
- Ability to work around food items and cleaning chemicals.
- Must be able to follow spoken and written directions.
- Residency within the service area is required.
