Job purpose
This role focuses on examining Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and wider operational safety information to spot hazards, evaluate risks, and strengthen proactive safety management across the Air Arabia Group. The position also contributes operational expertise to investigations, risk reviews, crew engagement, and safety promotion efforts, with the aim of reducing risk and continuously improving flight safety and operational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the flight operations representative in the Air Arabia Group FDM programme, translating exceedances, trend data, SOP application, aircraft handling characteristics, and operational context into accurate operational insight.
- Monitor and analyse FDM and other safety inputs to detect operational patterns, repeated exceedances, emerging threats, hazards, and the safety risks linked to them.
- Complete operational risk assessments, judge how effective current controls and mitigations are, track safety actions already introduced, and suggest further measures where needed.
- Review, assess, follow up on, and close safety reports raised by flight crew in a timely manner, applying proactive safety management and Just Culture principles while determining operational impact and safety relevance.
- Prepare safety recommendations that address identified risks and help prevent recurrence of safety events.
- Take part in and lead crew engagement and debrief sessions to collect operational insight, reinforce safety culture, and close the feedback loop on findings.
- Support safety promotion initiatives, including creating safety publications and organising Safety Walk & Talk sessions.
- Assist with Safety Risk Assessments (SRA) and Management of Change (MOC) activities by identifying operational hazards and new or developing risks.

- Working knowledge of ICAO Annex 19 safety management principles.
- Solid understanding of GCAA CAR SMS and CAR AIR OPS requirements.
- Good grasp of FDM/FOQA principles.
- Understanding of human factors and Threat & Error Management.
- Familiarity with operational risk assessment methods.
- Strong operational judgement.

- High standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- A proactive safety approach aligned with Just Culture principles.

Experience
A minimum of 5 years of commercial airline flight operations experience is required. Familiarity with the route network, aerodromes, and operating environment is also important.
