About Softline Solutions

Softline Solutions is a Southern California-based digital marketing agency that supports business growth through stronger online visibility, lead generation, and sales performance. The team develops customized, data-led campaigns across major digital channels and handles the work from planning through execution and reporting, with an emphasis on measurable results.

About the Role

This position is for a mid-level Brand Systems Designer who will act as the production engine for the Brand Systems team. The role centers on maintaining exacting brand standards, keeping assets polished, and ensuring guidelines are consistently applied across a large volume of output. The work spans brand identity production, commercial design, and multi-channel delivery across print, digital, OOH, and marketing materials.

The right person will be comfortable creating logo identities, preparing pre-press files, building packaging layouts, designing presentations and catalogs, developing brand guidelines, and managing brand templates that remain tightly aligned with system standards. This is a hands-on production role, not a simple template-filling position.

Ideal candidates will pair strong production craft with a solid understanding of brand systems, including the reasoning behind the rules, and should be able to discuss design decisions strategically while also staying current on how AI tools are changing brand design workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and refine logo work and brand identity assets, from early exploration through final production files and approved lockups.
  • Develop end-to-end brand systems by setting standards for typography, color, iconography, photography direction, and imagery across print, digital, and environmental uses.
  • Produce brand guidelines that are practical, comprehensive, and useful for designers, partners, and vendors.
  • Prepare pre-press artwork for print production, including packaging, catalogs, large-format pieces, and collateral, while accounting for print specifications, dielines, and vendor handoff needs.
  • Adapt brand systems for out-of-home and large-format applications such as billboards, signage, banners, and environmental graphics.
  • Support photography and imagery selection by following established art-direction standards and maintaining consistency in asset organization and formatting.
  • Deliver commercial design assets across both digital and print, including packaging layouts, dieline adjustments, marketing collateral, catalog design, presentation design, and campaign support materials.
  • Apply brand-system thinking to work used across print, packaging, campaign design, paid media, marketing, and email touchpoints.
  • Contribute to brand strategy writing, including naming, messaging frameworks, brand voice guidance, and positioning language in collaboration with copy and strategy teams.
  • Stay informed about design trends, tools, and new formats, including AI-assisted workflows that can improve speed, quality, and creative range.

Qualifications

This role calls for 3 to 5 years of experience in brand design, graphic design, or another production-focused creative role.

Applicants should have strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, with the ability to create clean, production-ready files for multiple output formats.

A strong command of typography, color theory, and layout is required, along with the ability to apply brand standards accurately and notice when work falls outside the system.

Hands-on packaging design experience is important, including dieline setup, print-spec awareness, and familiarity with retail or CPG production contexts.

Candidates should have practical experience working with brand guidelines and design standards in a professional setting, not just reviewing them.

The role also expects a strong range across at least two or three commercial channels such as print, packaging, OOH, digital media, presentation design, paid media, or marketing collateral.

Familiarity with AI tools in creative workflows, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Pletor, or similar tools, is also part of the role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in an agency, consultancy, or fast-paced in-house environment handling several brand identities and campaigns at once, especially in franchise, multi-location, or licensed-brand settings.
  • Exposure to paid media or email production workflows, including sizing rules, technical specifications, and delivery expectations for digital marketing channels.
  • Experience using motion or video tools such as After Effects, Premiere, Cinema 4D, Blender, Keyshot, or similar software, with interest in developing further in that area.
  • Working knowledge of Figma for design-system documentation or digital handoff processes.

Why This Role

You will work closely with leadership, with your output going directly to the Creative Director of Brand Systems rather than sitting in a queue and losing momentum or context. The role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of brands where detailed craft and print-production expertise are equally important, from identity work to packaging and large-format design.

There is room to deepen production expertise while growing into a more strategic contribution alongside senior brand design leadership, with expanded ownership expected as the team grows. The environment is fast-paced and multi-channel, and the work has visible impact across the way Softline’s brands are presented and scaled.

Benefits & Perks

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid vacation time.
  • Paid holidays.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is USD 95,000 to USD 135,000 per year.
