Job description
Overview
The Fleet Salesman plays a key role in managing all aspects related to the company's fleet vehicles and operations, ensuring they are maintained and utilized optimally to fulfill operational goals, enhance workshop efficiency, control costs, and maximize vehicle uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee fleet activities, including proper asset management, vehicle dispatch, routing, acquisition, and disposal decisions.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance tasks such as preventive servicing, repairs, and inspections to reduce downtime and keep the fleet in optimal condition.
- Assist in preparing vehicle fleet pricing and gather required data from country fleet sales teams to respond to tenders.
- Create draft tender documents in collaboration with bid-desk teams and act on prioritized prospects aligned with the Fleet Sales Leader's guidance.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and technical vehicle issues.
- Formulate strategies to extend vehicle longevity and reduce lifecycle expenses.
- Manage the inventory of parts, including procurement and restocking, ensuring availability for repairs.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Oversee shipping and receiving of vehicles daily, ensuring staffing and resources meet operational demands.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships covering pricing and delivery structures and address shipment or paperwork issues.
- Train and supervise warehouse staff to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct accurate audits and administer warranty programs, verifying claims and coordinating repairs or replacements.
- Develop and manage workshop budgets, tracking expenses, labor, and parts procurement to find cost-saving measures.
- Monitor financial metrics such as maintenance and repair expenses to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships with corporate clients, government bodies, and transport companies, addressing inquiries and enhancing satisfaction.
- Collaborate with sales and account teams to identify customer needs, upsell services, and negotiate contracts to resolve conflicts impacting performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Certification in Automotive Sales.
- Minimum of two years of experience in automotive sales, with preference for experience in fleet or B2B sales.
- Fluency in English and Arabic languages is required.
