About the Role
Chubb Fire & Security, a leading global provider of fire and security solutions, is seeking a dedicated Fire Technician for a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) position based in Darwin with work on Groote Eylandt. This 7 days on / 7 days off schedule offers a balanced lifestyle while supporting a major client, GEMCO Sth32, maintaining critical fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform servicing, testing, and maintenance of fire protection equipment according to Chubb's safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Execute scheduled maintenance tasks, fix defects, and undertake upgrades as necessary.
- Deliver excellent customer service and provide technical assistance directly to the on-site client.
- Complete all required documentation using the internal GEMCO Sth32 reporting platform.
- Collaborate effectively with the Darwin Fire Management team to ensure smooth reporting, parts supply, and workflow coordination.
Systems Managed
- Fire Detection & Alarm Systems such as Ampac
- Sprinkler and Deluge Systems
- Gaseous Suppression Systems including Inergen and FM200
- Fire Pump Sets
- VESDA / Aspiration Systems
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in the fire protection industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a Certificate II, III, or FPAS qualification in Fire Protection.
- Possess a current driver's license and a White Card.
- Capable of working a 7-on/7-off FIFO roster and pass relevant police and medical checks.
- Exhibit strong communication skills, customer centricity, time management, autonomy, and a safety-focused mindset.
