Job description
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Finance Head will oversee comprehensive financial accounting, statutory and IFRS reporting obligations, ensuring the precision and integrity of all financial records. The role entails ownership of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closures, preparation of local, group, and IFRS statements, as well as coordination with external statutory auditors and adherence to accounting policies and local regulations.
Internal Control, Audit, and Risk Management
- Establish and sustain stringent internal controls spanning inventory management, costing, procurement processes, payment operations, segregation of duties, and order-to-cash cycles.
- Lead corrective action plans responding to audit findings.
- Serve as primary finance liaison during audits and compliance assessments.
- Advocate a rigorous culture of compliance and financial controls.
Operations Finance and Business Collaboration
- Evaluate manufacturing cost structures, margins, variance analysis, scrap rates, productivity, overhead allocation, and inventory flow.
- Collaborate and constructively challenge Plant Management, Production, Procurement, and Sales teams to pinpoint risks and initiate countermeasures.
- Support in pricing strategy, commercial terms, profitability assessments, capital expenditure, and investment analyses.
- Convert operational challenges into quantifiable financial impacts with actionable recommendations.
Cash Flow, Working Capital, and Treasury Duties
- Manage cash flow forecasting and keep vigilant oversight of receivables, inventory, and payables.
- Maintain rigorous controls around cash collections, credit exposure, and compliance with treasury policies.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead and nurture the local finance team, fostering autonomy, responsibility, and operational continuity while preserving a hands-on leadership style.
Experience Requirements
- 10-15 years of relevant experience with significant exposure to manufacturing environments and plant financial control.
- Solid expertise in accounting, month-end processes, statutory compliance, internal control frameworks, and working capital management.
- Familiarity with IFRS, group financial reporting standards, and adherence to local statutory requirements.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and drivers of operational financial performance.
Skill Set
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems is considered a strong advantage.
- Capacity to lead and develop finance teams while maintaining a practical, engaged approach.
- Excellent communication abilities to constructively challenge operational units and effectively propel required financial actions.
Education and Preferred Background
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, MBA in Finance, or equivalent credentials are preferred.
- Candidates with substantial experience in the manufacturing sector are highly desirable.
