Job description

Role Overview

Join Lancashire County Council's Early Help Service as a Family Support Worker serving the Pendle and Rossendale areas. This position plays a vital part in providing targeted assistance to children, young people, and families to help ensure their safety, health, and development.

Key Duties

  • Manage an active caseload of families, delivering bespoke interventions grounded in evidence.
  • Conduct early help assessments and co-develop action plans collaboratively with families.
  • Collaborate within a Team Around the Family framework to ensure coordinated support delivery.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records, using critical analysis to support service decisions.
  • Forge strong relationships with both families and external professionals to foster positive achievements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to accommodate family requirements.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds a Level 3 qualification or possesses substantial relevant experience.
  • Experienced in working directly with children, youth, and families in support roles.
  • Skilled in assessment, planning, and reflective practice.
  • Communicates effectively, building strong professional relationships.
  • Capable of both independent work and collaborative teamwork.
  • Dedicated to safeguarding, promoting equality, and maintaining health and safety standards.

  • Full-time hours are 37 per week in Rossendale; 22.2 hours per week in Pendle.
