Key responsibilities
- Take charge of daily facilities operations across several Tasmanian sites, including planned and reactive maintenance and general operational support.
- Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and security systems so statutory obligations are met and work orders are completed on time.
- Oversee and review physical security controls, complete risk assessments, and help deliver continuous security coverage through contractor coordination.
- Support compliance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018, contribute to the CIRMP, and keep the necessary registers, records and documentation up to date.
- Source, appoint and manage contractors and delivery partners across civil, electrical, mechanical and specialist trades, ensuring WHS compliance and performance against KPIs and SLAs.
- Prepare business cases, reports, insights and other supporting documents for business needs and regulatory submissions.
- Assist with capital works, office moves and site upgrade projects from planning through to completion.
- Contribute to operating budget management, support capital budgeting and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
- Develop, maintain and apply site security procedures, emergency response plans and incident reporting processes.
- Work effectively with regulators, contractors, internal teams and the Responsible Entity on facilities and SOCI-related matters.
About you
You are a self-driven, well-organised facilities professional with solid experience in multi-site operations, contractor oversight and physical security systems. You are comfortable in a fast-moving setting, can balance immediate operational needs with longer-term priorities, and approach challenges with practical, solutions-oriented thinking.
Required experience and capabilities
- At least 5 years of experience managing facilities, property or building services across multiple locations.
- Practical knowledge of physical security systems, audits and risk assessment work.
- Working knowledge of the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act and related compliance obligations.
- Strong ability to create business documents, reports and procedures to a high standard.
- Proven skill in building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with workplace health and safety and broader compliance oversight.
- Ability to handle operational priorities while contributing to planning and improvement activity.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
- Alignment with TasNetworks values, including safety, customer focus, teamwork and forward thinking.
