Role Overview
The Facilities Operations Manager will take charge of facility operations across the head office, showroom, and related support areas in Doha. This position is responsible for keeping the premises safe, efficient, and well maintained for both customers and staff, while also handling maintenance, security, housekeeping, fit-out work, contractor performance, and service compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day running of facility services, including maintenance, housekeeping, security, landscaping, and technical support.
- Plan and supervise preventive as well as corrective maintenance for equipment, infrastructure, and building systems.
- Manage external facility service vendors and review their performance against agreed service levels.
- Oversee fit-out, refurbishment, and renovation initiatives while keeping quality, cost, and timelines on track.
- Administer the facility management ticketing platform and ensure maintenance requests are resolved promptly.
- Coordinate work across MEP, civil, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance functions.
- Maintain compliance with safety, fire protection, health, and regulatory obligations.
- Create maintenance plans that improve asset reliability and reduce interruptions to operations.
- Track facility expenses and manage maintenance budgets in a disciplined way.
- Carry out routine inspections and recommend improvements for better performance.
- Support emergency response procedures and business continuity planning.
- Prepare operational summaries, maintenance KPIs, and contractor performance reviews.
- Collaborate with Retail Operations, Security, Procurement, and Commercial teams to support overall business needs.
Qualifications and Experience
This role calls for a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or a similar engineering field. Candidates should bring 8 to 10 years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or property management, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in retail environments, shopping malls, commercial properties, or other large-scale facilities is strongly preferred.
Technical and Functional Requirements
Applicants should have strong working knowledge of facilities operations, including MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, civil maintenance, and building infrastructure. Practical use of FM ticketing or CAFM systems is required. A solid grasp of preventive and corrective maintenance planning, outsourced service management, contract administration, health and safety, fire protection, and statutory compliance is also expected. Project management experience for fit-out and renovation work, along with strong contractor handling, stakeholder coordination, budgeting, reporting, and analysis skills, is important. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software is needed.
