Facilities Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager for a temporary role within a leading healthcare organization in Dublin. This senior leadership position involves directing all aspects of facilities, estate services, engineering, maintenance, security, waste handling, biomedical equipment, and capital project management to ensure highest standards of service quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Duties

• Lead and oversee all maintenance and facilities operations including critical plant and engineering systems such as Building Management Systems, Medical Gas Systems, Emergency Systems, HVAC, boiler and chiller plants, and electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
• Develop and manage planned preventative maintenance programs and control budgets, equipment inventories, and asset replacement schedules.
• Implement energy efficiency measures and ensure full compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory standards.
• Plan and execute capital projects including development of scopes, budgeting, procurement, tendering, project delivery, and health and safety management.
• Direct environmental initiatives focusing on waste segregation, recycling, sustainability efforts, and water supply management while managing waste service contracts and contingency planning.
• Administer security services by maintaining CCTV, alarm systems, managing contractors and security policies, conducting incident investigations, and delivering training programs.
• Supervise biomedical equipment maintenance, compliance, service contracts, asset management, and advise on procurement and lifecycle plans.
• Provide inspirational leadership to multidisciplinary facilities teams, including recruitment, workforce planning, training, and performance management fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Maintain quality assurance, accreditation, risk management, and effective collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 3 years of managerial experience in facilities, estates, engineering, maintenance, or related sectors.
• Proven ability to handle budgets, projects, contracts, and operational teams effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental and waste management systems.
• Strong leadership and staff development capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with strong organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities under pressure.
• Desirable qualifications include a degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or similarly regulated environments is advantageous.

Additional Information

• This is a temporary onsite position located in Dublin.
• The role reports directly to the Director of Finance.
• Employment includes a 35-hour work week and 30 days of annual leave.
• Competitive salary ranging between 75,000 and 80,000 Euros.
