Role Summary

The Executive Vice President of Project Management is a senior leadership position responsible for steering the enterprise-wide project management strategy, supervising portfolio governance, overseeing strategic programming, and bolstering organizational project delivery capacity. This executive leads the Project Management Office (PMO), formulates project governance frameworks, manages extensive project portfolios, enhances execution standards, and drives the success of critical corporate initiatives in alignment with business objectives. This role collaborates closely with the CEO, executive team, board members, business unit leaders, project executives, and external partners to ensure effective planning, risk mitigation, resource management, and ongoing improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive project management strategies aligned with company goals.
• Establish standards, methodologies, governance frameworks, and delivery protocols across projects.
• Manage complex portfolios spanning strategic, operational, technological, and transformational projects, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, budget, and quality.
• Develop prioritization models based on strategic relevance, business value, risk, and resources.
• Enforce accountability and discipline within project teams and units.
• Lead portfolio oversight with evaluation, prioritization, reporting systems, dashboards, and performance reviews.
• Monitor milestones, dependencies, budgets, resource use, and overall portfolio health.
• Identify and correct underperforming projects to secure ROI and business value.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps, milestones, and execution plans.
• Spearhead high-impact corporate initiatives, including mergers, expansions, technological transformation, and organizational changes.
• Build and continuously develop the PMO with best practices, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, Lean, Six Sigma), governance, and project maturity programs.
• Oversee budgets, capital expenditures, resource allocations, and financial performance; partner with finance for economic evaluations.
• Implement enterprise-wide risk management frameworks and governance for high-value projects.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration among operations, finance, technology, marketing, legal, and external stakeholders, resolving conflicts and aligning priorities.
• Drive technology adoption including project platforms, automation, analytics, and digital reporting systems to enhance visibility and innovation.
• Develop leadership programs, succession plans, and mentoring for project management teams to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

• More than 18 years of progressive leadership experience in project and program management, PMO leadership, business transformation, or strategic execution.
• Proven record managing large-scale, complex enterprise-wide portfolios.
• Success delivering significant transformation initiatives, technology implementations, or capital projects.
• Expertise in project governance, portfolio and financial management, risk mitigation, and executive reporting.
• Experience handling substantial budgets, resources, and diverse cross-functional teams.
• Strong familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, Lean, Six Sigma, and other project methodologies.
• Preferred experience leading global, multi-location, or highly complex projects.
