About Holmesglen Institute
Holmesglen Institute is a prestigious education and training organisation operating across multiple campuses including CBD, Chadstone, Moorabbin, Glen Waverley, and Drummond Street. Known for innovation and dedication to learner and industry success, it provides over 300 vocational and higher education programs to more than 24,000 students, making it one of Victoria's largest government TAFE providers.
Position Overview
We are seeking a distinguished leader to serve as the Executive Director - Governance, Quality and Strategy. Based at our Chadstone campus with convenient onsite parking and access to public transport, this full-time executive appointment is contracted until 31 August 2029, under standard public entity executive employment terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide organisation-wide leadership in governance, strategic planning, educational quality, academic assurance, institutional performance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board, Chief Executive, and Executive Leadership Team, ensuring Holmesglen maintains its position at the forefront of educational excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Drive development and implementation of the Institute's strategic agenda.
- Embed strong governance and quality frameworks, promoting continuous improvement, innovation, and evidence-led decision-making.
- Enhance academic governance and educational staff capabilities.
- Oversee corporate and statutory reporting obligations.
- Maintain effective relationships with regulators, government bodies, and key stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven senior or executive leadership experience within vocational, higher, senior secondary education or complex public sector environments.
- Extensive knowledge of governance, risk management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning.
- Successful track record leading major organisational change, transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong expertise in academic governance and contemporary educational quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with boards, government, regulators, industry partners, and executive colleagues.
- Experience delivering strategic results through leading high-performing teams using evidence-based approaches.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical skills, and decision-making proficiency, capable of managing complex priorities.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in fields such as education, management, business, public administration, or equivalent executive experience combined with qualifications.
- Must obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check and a valid Police Check dated within the last 12 months.
