Team Overview
The Singapore Equity Trading Team executes trades across multiple asset classes such as equities, futures, options, and foreign exchange spanning Asia, EMEA, and MENA markets. This team caters to the diverse portfolio management teams within MSIM.
Role Summary: Multi Asset Derivatives Trader
We seek a Singapore-based trader experienced in handling cash and derivatives transactions involving equities, futures, and foreign exchange. The candidate should demonstrate effective communication skills to collaborate with portfolio managers, investment teams, and sell-side dealers. The role demands a detail-oriented, analytical approach and strong interpersonal skills, coupled with an interest in global financial markets.
- Coordinate with portfolio managers and trading teams to oversee order management throughout its lifecycle: order initiation, cash handling, pre-trade checks, execution, and settlement.
- Ensure trade accuracy, conduct pre-trade analysis, and perform venue assessments including liquidity risk evaluations to achieve optimal trade execution.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of global markets to generate market insights including liquidity, structure, and accessibility for investment teams.
- Collaborate closely with compliance, legal, operations, risk management, and IT departments to foster efficient trading workflows.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant trading experience in similar roles.
- Strong adherence to regulatory frameworks pertinent to investment management.
- Knowledge of order management, execution, and trading platforms.
- In-depth understanding of market dynamics, macroeconomic influences, and cross-asset portfolio impacts.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in team environments serving investment professionals.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adaptability to evolving business needs and dedication to team objectives.
- Willingness to incorporate AI-enabled solutions into workflow processes.
- Highly detail-focused and process-oriented with an emphasis on execution precision.
- Capable of making timely, sound decisions in high-pressure and rapidly changing market conditions.
