Role Overview
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Administrative Coordinator proactively supports a safe workplace by managing administrative functions related to occupational safety, environmental compliance, and health and safety matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and efficient environment and health & safety reports.
- Monitor trade effluent compliance and produce required statutory documentation.
- Process Purchase Requisitions for the EHS Department as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Develop artificial intelligence driven workflows to enhance EHS operational efficiency.
- Organize meetings for project assessments and presentations.
- Participate in cross-functional projects responding to evolving business demands.
- Ensure adherence to EHS policies on-site and communicate environmental, health, or safety concerns to management promptly.
- Improve processes concerning employee health assessments such as dosimeters, eye tests, audiometric, medical and vaccinations.
- Serve as Learning Management System technician for EHS training components, managing setup and ongoing administration.
- Maintain and improve EHS documentation including procedures, risk assessments, and reports; ensure proper filing in systems like livelink, document control, and HR records.
- Schedule training sessions, both virtual and classroom-based.
- Generate waste reports and monitor certificates of destruction.
- Compile reports and update EHS performance metrics regularly.
- Assist ISO 14001 audit preparations for 16 affiliated entities and collaborate with other departments.
- Manage contractor database efficiently.
- Embed quality principles by complying with site and corporate Quality Management Systems.
- Uphold Cook’s Code of Conduct in all business dealings.
- Provide feedback to supervisors for process enhancement.
- Work independently and collaboratively, escalating queries appropriately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- At least two years in a comparable administrative or EHS support role within a related environment preferred.
- Proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and confidentiality skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication capabilities.
- Advanced computer literacy, including experience using artificial intelligence technologies.
