Role Overview

The Entry-Level Arborist / Ground Worker role is a full-time, on-site position located in Waterford, County Waterford, Ireland. The ground worker assists climbing arborists by preparing work sites, handling rope operations, managing brush and wood removal, and maintaining clean job sites. Daily duties involve operating hand and power tools, feeding wood chippers, loading and unloading equipment, performing basic equipment inspections, and adhering strictly to safety protocols and instructions from crew leaders. This position offers valuable on-the-job training in arboriculture and tree care methods, with potential for advancement to higher-level roles.

Qualifications and Candidate Profile

• Basic understanding or strong interest in Forestry and Arboriculture with eagerness to learn industry best practices.
• Desire to develop skills in Tree Identification, with ability to recognize common species.
• Possession of a Certified Arborist credential is advantageous; applicants pursuing certification or relevant training are encouraged.
• Good physical condition to work outdoors under various weather conditions, with ability to safely lift and move heavy materials.
• Strong commitment to safety, following instructions thoroughly, and maintaining attention to detail on site.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills with a professional approach towards colleagues and customers.
• Valid driving license and dependable transportation to the Waterford job location.
