Entrepreneur in Residence – Datacenter Development

About the Role

We are launching a new business division focused on developing datacenter locations, spanning from initial site concept to forward sales to investors and operators. As an Entrepreneur in Residence, you will take on entrepreneurial responsibilities immediately and help build this division like a startup within our company.

Key Responsibilities

• Establishing and leading the Datacenter Development business unit, covering strategy through execution.
• Developing and managing the project pipeline including site identification, grid connection capacities, and presales of powered land and ready-to-build projects.
• Building and managing the core team responsible for site acquisition and technical project management, including resource planning and prioritization.
• Negotiating and finalizing term sheets and letters of intent with investors and operators for forward deals.
• Creating a strong partner network in the datacenter industry.
• Delivering investment cases, business plans, and reporting directly to executive management.

Candidate Profile

• Several years of experience in business unit development, project development (energy, infrastructure, real estate, or datacenter), or within an investment environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong self-motivation and the ability to build a viable business from minimal structure.
• Excellent negotiation skills at decision-maker level and experience establishing strategic partnerships.
• Strong understanding of site, energy, and real estate topics; knowledge of the datacenter market is a distinct advantage.
• Leadership experience or clear ambition to build and develop a team.
• High execution capability with a hands-on attitude and willingness to travel.
• Fluent German and very good English skills.
