English Language Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking an English Language Specialist for a contract role offering remote work options. The position pays between $20 and $30 per hour with a weekly commitment ranging from 10 to 40 hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately transcribe English audio recordings maintaining high consistency and precision.
• Review and improve machine-generated transcripts by correcting errors related to spelling, grammar, and context.
• Enhance transcripts by adding relevant metadata tags and annotations to support data quality.
• Ensure that all transcription deliverables adhere to stringent quality standards and comply with client formatting requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the client’s team to clarify project expectations and resolve any ambiguities in source material.
• Keep comprehensive records of completed work and suggest improvements to processes as needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Fluent English proficiency with excellent command over orthography, grammar, and punctuation.
• Proven experience transcribing and captioning English audio content.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to carefully review and correct machine-generated transcripts.
• Skilled at annotating and tagging metadata within language datasets.
• Effective time management capabilities to handle deadlines in a fully remote setting.
