Job Overview

This role requires providing expert knowledge and full accountability for inspection-related activities within the organization. It involves assessing equipment and piping performance and recommending necessary upgrades.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor mechanical performance of equipment during routine operations and testing, preparing reports to ensure operations stay within design limits.
  • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of cathodic protection and corrosion control systems; maintain updated records and inspection documentation for plant assets.
  • Evaluate process conditions to identify corrosive factors and assess material performance in various process streams.
  • Review metallurgical considerations for modifications and major projects; update and recommend procedures, specifications, repairs, and operational parameters to extend equipment and piping lifespan.
  • Conduct corrosion studies, failure analyses, and investigations to enhance plant and storage tank safety and integrity.
  • Maintain and update inspection records for plant equipment and storage tanks.
  • Lead and oversee inspection activities for process plant equipment, tanks, piping, safety relief valves, and lifting devices.
  • Analyze inspection findings post-turnaround and ongoing operations to advise on maintaining plant integrity and safe functioning; inspect materials as required.
  • Coordinate failure analyses, root cause investigations, and prepare reports on failures of equipment components, coatings, refractory, and insulation; provide corrective action recommendations and calculate remaining life assessments.
  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate team activities to meet operational and functional objectives; conduct training to develop staff skills and proficiency.
  • Contribute to budgeting processes and support budget implementation and monitoring to control costs and performance.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and systems compliant with company and international standards and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to department performance objectives as per company frameworks.
  • Develop and apply innovative tools and techniques to enhance operational quality and efficiency, identifying process improvements aligned with ISO standards.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, environment (HSE) policies, controls, and sustainability guidelines according to ADNOC and international best practices.
  • Provide management information system (MIS) inputs and progress reports for senior management.
  • Engage in internal communications with management, peers, and other employees, as well as with external consultants, service providers, and government entities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in inspection or related roles.
  • Professional certifications applicable to the role are desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Minimal physical effort required.
  • Primarily air-conditioned working environment with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions such as heat, humidity, and dust during site visits.
