Energy Policy Specialist

Role overview

The Energy Policy Specialist supports the development and communication of sector policies across the energy space. The role focuses on identifying the right stakeholders, coordinating updates on policy milestones, and making sure policy-related information is shared clearly through suitable communication channels.

This position works closely with the Policy Development team so that policies, strategies, and plans are prepared accurately and aligned with the needs of relevant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Help guide policy development activities through every stage of the process.
• Coordinate strategic communication plans and keep deliverables on track for new policy work.
• Support the Policy Development team in drafting and refining policy documents.
• Partner with the Legal & Legislative Department to ensure water sector policies and plans comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide policy content to the Communications Department so they can prepare the materials included in the entity’s communication plans.
• Oversee the review and approval workflow with relevant stakeholders before policy communication materials are released.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Policy, Social Policy, or Electrical Engineering is required.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience in a related role or field.
