About the Role
Join APM in Abbotsford, VIC, as an Employment Consultant dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve meaningful employment and greater independence. This role offers the rewarding challenge of balancing direct participant support with employer engagement and sales-related activities in the Inclusive Employment Australia Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop in-depth relationships with participants to understand their career aspirations and enhance their employability.
- Prepare participants for the job market, including resume assistance, interview coaching, and providing job search techniques.
- Facilitate access to training and skill development opportunities to increase participants' readiness for employment.
- Proactively advocate participants to employers, creating employment placements and securing work opportunities.
- Generate job openings by conducting cold calls, visiting employers, and engaging face-to-face to build a robust employer network.
- Identify hidden job market opportunities via proactive business development efforts.
- Present candidates effectively by aligning their skills with employer needs and negotiate employment terms such as trials, wage subsidies, and work experience placements.
- Maintain long-term employer relationships to ensure ongoing vacancy availability and repeat business.
- Meet and exceed key performance indicators related to placements, participant engagement, and activity levels.
- Manage all compliance matters, documentation, and data entry aligned with program standards.
- Celebrate participant milestones to boost their confidence and continued engagement.

Eligibility and Requirements
- Must have eligibility to work in Australia.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have a comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Hold a MyGovID at the standard level.
- Willing to undergo a National Police Check and Working With Children Check.
- Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
