Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and meticulous finance professional to become part of our EMEA Finance team. This role is hands-on and provides extensive exposure to various finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Treasury, and Commercial Finance. It suits candidates eager to build a comprehensive finance career in a fast-moving retail setting.
Collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and senior stakeholders is key to delivering accurate financial reports, maintaining robust controls, and driving continuous process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage weekly vendor aged credit report analysis within Accounts Payable.
- Assist the External Accounting Service in resolving supplier payment issues, debit balances, and discrepancies.
- Handle vendor portal concerns and maintain contractor documentation including invoice coding.
- Review EMEA cash accounts, covering fund movements, credit cards, and discrepancies in cash.
- Help reconcile and investigate variances in the General Ledger and conduct weekly cashbook reviews.
- Oversee monthly reconciliation and monitoring of concession invoices and follow up on overdue payments.
- Conduct monthly petty cash evaluations and manage Made-to-Order (MTO) activities along with Standing Orders and Direct Debit.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting records in audit-ready format and perform detailed cost analyses.
- Review profit and loss cost accounts and facilitate day-to-day General Ledger operations maintaining financial control compliance.
- Contribute to financial reporting and analysis aiding business decision-making and compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards.
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting as part of Commercial Finance duties.
- Perform ad hoc finance and administrative tasks including managing incoming post.
Qualifications & Skills
- A minimum of one year’s experience in Retail Finance or a related, fast-paced financial environment.
- Strong proficiency in Excel including functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and INDEX/MATCH.
- Experience with SAP and/or HP finance systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of IFRS or GAAP accounting standards.
- A proactive, accountable approach with hands-on involvement and ownership.
- Driven, inquisitive, and team-oriented with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective time management skills capable of handling multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail combined with strong analytical skills.
