Job Overview

We are seeking a proficient Electrician based in Doha, Qatar to join our team on a full-time basis. The role involves installing, wiring, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan and install electrical conduit piping, cable trays, trunking, and raceways adhering to approved shop drawings.
• Run wires and cables through conduits, connecting them to circuit breakers, transformers, lighting fixtures, and outlets.
• Assemble, install, and wire Main Distribution Boards (MDBs), Sub-Main Distribution Boards (SMDBs), and final Distribution Boards (DBs).
• Set up switches, sockets, both indoor and outdoor lighting, and emergency backup power systems.
• Identify and diagnose faults in electrical systems using instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers (Megger).
• Replace damaged components including wiring, circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and relays to minimize downtime.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical setups, commercial machinery, and distribution boards.
• Adhere rigorously to safety standards and project specifications, including observing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to prevent electrical hazards.
• Implement grounding (earthing) systems properly on equipment and structures to protect against electrical surges.

Technical Skills & Tools

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and layout drawings.
• Competent in using hand and power tools related to electrical trades such as conduit benders, wire strippers, crimping tools, cable cutters, and drilling machines.
• Extensive knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical distribution systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI Certificate in the Electrician Trade or equivalent vocational education, typically a 2-year course.
• Practical experience ranging from 2 to over 5 years in construction sites, commercial fit-outs, or industrial maintenance projects.
