About the Company
Our client is a well-established M&E contractor specializing in electrical and mechanical building services projects across London and the surrounding Home Counties. Their project portfolio primarily includes new construction and refurbishment work within public-sector buildings such as schools and healthcare facilities.
Role Overview
They are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join their commercial team based in Basildon, Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and competitive electrical cost estimates for projects with values reaching up to 3 million.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate detailed and precise electrical estimates for projects valued up to 3 million.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents thoroughly.
- Deliver accurate project costing within the designated tender deadlines.
- Request and evaluate competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities for value engineering within projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders involved.
- Collaborate closely with pre-construction and project teams to ensure seamless handover of awarded tenders.
- Stay updated on relevant industry standards, pricing trends, and regulations.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record as an Electrical Estimator within M&E, MEP, or building services contracting environments.
- In-depth understanding of electrical building services systems.
- Experience in handling public-sector projects, notably in education or healthcare sectors.
- Competence in interpreting electrical drawings, tender documentation, and specifications.
- Proficient use of estimating software alongside Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong numerical aptitude, organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a commercial or project team.
Salary and Benefits
- Annual salary up to 35,000, dependent on experience.
